Shelley and Patch began with two much‑loved toys and the worlds my children imagined around them. That spark of childhood wonder is stitched into every costume I make. Each stegosaurus, triceratops, and unicorn is individually handcrafted, using soft materials, thoughtful details, and colours that feel alive with possibility. These pieces are made to be played in, treasured, and remembered. Little works of craft that help children step into the stories they dream about.

I’m Sarah, a stay‑at‑home mum who found her creative spark in the most delightful way: sewing a stegosaurus costume for my eldest daughter based on her favourite toy a stegosaurus named Shelley, and from that moment a tiny bit of magic took root. What began as one playful dinosaur soon grew into Shelley and Patch, a place where imagination is stitched into every seam.I make each costume by hand in my workshop on the Kāpiti Coast, surrounded by fabric, colour, and the joyful chaos of family life. I love creating pieces that invite children into worlds of fun, wonder, and play, where stegosauruses stomp, triceratops roam, and unicorns shimmer in colours that feel enchanted.Every costume is crafted slowly, thoughtfully, and with a sense of story, ready to become part of the adventures children dream up.Lets make everyone a believer of magic.
